The ROBOT Dance Band Organ
Back in the 1950's at the height of the space race, sci-fi films were all the rage and robots were made into toys and filled the imagination of everyone. Who wouldn't want a robot to carry out all of those menial taks around the house?
Decap of Antwerp, Belgium took the concept one stage further and came up with a series of Robot dance organs, that thrilled the dancers in cafe's in Belgium and Holland.
Fifty years later, these relics are much sought after and are rare and expensive to collectors, and now new Robot organs are being made by Decap and NBC in Holland.
The cost of either an original organ or even a new build was out of the question, so using the chassis of a defunct Albert Decap organ, Norman built his own Robot organ. However, the electronic system of the Albert Decap organ proved too unreliable and with the assistance of Stephen Simpson, the organ has been converted to midi operation and now travels to events near and far, proving to be a big hit with all that see the organ.
The ROBOTS are animated, the drummer actually plays the drums and the accordionist takes a solo whilst the others turn to watch him play, his foot tapping along with the beat. The music swings along as only a Decap Robot Dance Band can!
